Meet Our Team

Tooth Works is Invercargill’s largest independent dental practice, originally owned by Hilary Strang, it was purchased in 2019 by Kate Tiriaere and Kelvin Khoo.
Kate and Kelvin both have worked at Tooth Works for a number of years, and continue to work with an amazing team of Dentists and staff, providing a high standard of dental care to Southlanders.
Very impressed with the service, facilities and Kate was excellent. Highly recommend to all.

Like most people I am nervous of going to the dentist, so it was not a good day for me when I broke a filling and had to make the dreaded appointment. I need not have worried because Dentist Kate, and her lovely assistant were both chatty, calming, and nice, and Kate did an excellent pain free job.

I am absolutely terrified of the dentist, Tooth Works came highly recommended, so decided to change, have no regrets at all, James was amazing with working with my phobia, and putting my mind at ease, by my 5th appointment I was able to do it without medication or a support person a big change from my break down at the counter just walking in to make the appointment the first time. Could not fault them at all. Nor speak anymore highly of them! It’s so good to finally have a pleasant dentist experience!!

Do you need to book an appointment?

"Hi everyone,

As we approach Alert Level 2, we are very excited to be back but we are also waiting for further instructions from the Dental Council about what we can and cannot do. Once we have received the latest rules, we will organize our books from then on.
For patients who already have appointments with us from tomorrow onwards, these remain in place but please be aware that there is still a chance we may have to cancel your appointment depending on the instructions given to us by the Dental Council.
There are, however, a few changes that will definitely happen in the Delta Level 2:
- Masks are now mandatory while visiting us.
- Please scan our QR Code with your tracer app or sign-in on the paper whenever you visit us.
- There will be limited space in the waiting area due to the 2 meters rule. Patients are required to wait in the car, bring your phone with you if you have one. When your dentist is ready to see you, they will call to invite you in. If you don't have a call phone, please call before leaving home and let the receptionist know.
- You are welcome to bring one support person if you need to. They must wear a mask and scan their QR code also.
Due to the shortage of dentists and the lockdown backlog, we are expected to be very busy. We are trying to accommodate as much as we can so please be kind and patient with our staff.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but we are doing the best we could.

Best wishes,

The Tooth Works Team"
