Hilary graduated from Otago University in 1991. She had a great start to her career in a busy Nelson practice, gaining valuable experience as a general dentist before heading overseas on her O.E. On her return to NZ, she married Murray and they settled in his home region of Southland, where Hilary found work with Craig Waterhouse. Hilary bought into that practice in 1997 and with Craig’s eventual shift to Dunedin in 2008, she took over the entire business. In 2019, after 22 very busy years in business and raising her two children, she decided it was time for a change and was delighted to be able to sell Tooth Works to the very capable duo of Kate and Kelvin.
Hilary is now working as a full-time dentist at Tooth Works where she enjoys practising most aspects of general dentistry in the great team environment that Tooth Works offers. Her biggest satisfaction comes from being a down-to-earth, approachable dentist and putting anxious dental patients at ease.
Hilary and Murray’s children have now grown up and in her spare time Hilary dabbles in running, biking, reading and baking and hopes to have time for more travel.
